Have you ever had an idea or a stirring in your heart that began as a small dream? Over two years ago, Steve Edwards and I began a conversation and felt a small stir in our hearts about Europe. For those of you who know Global Passion, you may be aware that a significant portion of our early ministry years were spent sending teams to serve alongside partners in Europe. Since our initial times of prayer in 2017, God has begun to open doors for us throughout Europe. In partnership with Assemblies of God Youth Ministries, the French Assemblies of God, Assembly of God World Missionaries, and Jesus Revolution, Global Passion is honored to be sending teams to Impact France in July 2020.
This summer, hundreds of young people from the United States and Europe will come together for an incredible opportunity to work alongside our French missionaries and churches to Impact a country for the cause of Christ. This two week experience will be focused on engaging young people in active ministry and equipping them to return home and be able to in turn reach their own communities. We believe that God is raising up the next generation of missionaries and through the catalyst of short-term missions we pray that God will call them to serve, both abroad and right next door.
The trip will begin with teams arriving in Paris, France and then traveling by bus to our training site, dividing into smaller ministry teams and then spreading further throughout France. For three days, our teams will be trained in ministry elements and equipped for ministry in their assigned cities. After the training time together, ministry teams will be sent out for a week of ministry alongside the local church and our missionary partners. Ministry may include street evangelism, house visits, vacation bible schools, mega sports camps, service projects, church services, and more. After a week of ministry, the ministry teams will come back together for our final debrief. At the debrief event, participants will share testimonies and be encouraged in next steps toward their ministry calling and the immediate of heading back to their communities and being an impact there.
The most important part about this trip is that we need your help.
Pray with us.
Pray for us.
We believe in the power of prayer and we have experienced the miraculous as God’s people come together and intercede.
Pray that young people will encounter the almighty God in a revolutionary way that will impact their entire existence.
Pray that God would give clear direction to each participant about the path that He desires for them.
Pray that for open doors and favor with city officials and local businesses.
Pray for fundraising efforts.
Pray for forms to be returned on time.
Pray that local churches would be encouraged and propelled into their next season of ministry.
Pray for excellent rates on airfare.
Pray for the pastors of churches that have labored for years wondering when help may come.
Pray for the leadership team to have wisdom and discernment as they direct the outreach.
Pray for mothers.
Pray for fathers.
Pray for children.
Pray that people will encounter the living God and fully surrender to Him.
Pray for the least of these.
Pray for God’s kingdom to come to France as it is in heaven.
Pray for God’s will to be done.
If you have ever heard someone from Global Passion speak, you know that we will often talk about the three missional responsibilities of a Christian: pray, give, go. We believe that prayer is the foundation of missions. My favorite part about prayer is that everyone can pray. You may not be in a place to go on a mission trip with us, or have extra to give towards missions work, but you can most definitely pray.
I had an intense realization a couple of years ago after my grandmother’s passing that my life and ministry are founded on the faithfulness and prayers of generations before me. You see, I grew up separated from the Christian heritage of my family and thought that I was the first person to be saved. The reality is that my family, for generations before me, faithfully served the Lord. As they prayed for the next generation of pastors and missionaries and kingdom builders they were praying for me. What is astonishing is that none of them would ever meet me on this side of eternity. We cannot truly fathom the power of our prayers.
Prayers change things.
Until All Have Heard,
Darryn
