At age 16, God gave me a heart to work with victims of sex trafficking but I could not comprehend how this would happen. Over the years I have been privileged to have opportunities to work with these victims first-hand. The two key opportunities for this work came through the direction of my Senior Pastor, Eric Daniel. In 2016, I worked at New Day for Children, a California non-profit safe home for women rescued from sex trafficking. In 2017, I spent the summer in India working with Project Rescue, an organization that exists to rescue and restore women and children from sexual slavery through Jesus Christ. When I returned from this trip, God lit a new fire for mission work. I knew I was being called to go specifically to work with victims of sexual slavery.
In the following year, 2018, I began working at Global Passion Ministries, a short term mission sending organization, where I oversaw the Trip Department. In the same year, I completed my Bachelors of Art in Psychology to specifically better understand the effects and paths to health for trauma. Looking back I can see God’s constant hand on my life leading me to the place I am today. I am so thankful for the mentorship and wisdom from my leaders Pastor Eric and Pastor Steve.
Through prayer, mentorship, and waiting, God revealed an opportunity to serve in Spain.
I was fortunate enough to visit Alicante, Spain right before the COVID-19 shut-down took place in March 2020. On this trip, God illuminated to me that this was the place He had been leading me towards, to be “enraizada” or rooted as a missionary.
My goal is to be departing for Spain mid-2021 for my one-year assignment. I will be working with Project Rescue in their newest rescue home, specially designed for women with children. In order to do this, I am in need of financial partners whether one time or monthly to come alongside me. In my experience, the work of restoration from sexual slavery is a long haul journey of daily life infused with the supernatural transforming working of the Spirit.
