West Texas & Plains Student Ministries
DESTINATION
Thousands of Buddhist temples ripple across Cambodia, fixtures that signify the heavy cultural influence the religion has on the country. One of them, Angkor Wat, is the largest religious building in the world and a source of deep national pride. The country lies on the Gulf of Thailand, bordering Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. Cambodia has suffered decades of political instability, but now enjoys a season of peace that has also brought about a new level of relative prosperity for the country. Art, politics and culture intersect at its capital, Phnom Penh, while pockets of slower-paced life remain tucked in its hillsides. Its people, despite being hosts to years of bloodshed and turmoil, remain optimistic and friendly. Still, the strongholds of false doctrine are intrinsic in daily life. God desires to uproot this counterfeit of his truth.
MINISTRY
We will be partnering with Assemblies of God missionaries helping them fulfill the vision that God has given them. Ministry will consist of multiple opportunities to share the love of Christ. Your team could travel to the ministry's rural churches for food distribution, children's ministry, interaction with Bible students and to share testimonies and perform dramas.
